Jolene (a student who I don’t usually teach but has joined one of my classes for revision) told me today that you had sent me your regards in an email to her. She’s hoping (I think) to also study Maths at Birmingham next year. You see what happens Herman ………. you go to study in Birmingham and suddenly it becomes VERY popular for the students here in KYUEM  As I told you before, you have a great reputation here amongst the students – not just your ‘juniors’ but even amongst your ‘super juniors’ who have never even met you !!

Well my special student, I have to write a few other emails so I will have to go. Let me know how you are when you have the time (like whilst waiting for the ‘lovely Dr. Herman to arrive for a lecture ) ……… always take care, be positive about life ………….. that means trying to ignore all of those many 'kurang baik' things you see and appreciate the good in people around you. Not always easy (at least I never found it to be when I was younger) but it does make for a much happier life and makes YOU a person that people love to be with.  

You must take strength from your family, the good people around you and last, but most important, Allah. If you do that, you will never go wrong. I pray that you will do that. There will of course be challenges along the way in  life where we may fail …….. we are only human after all.
